I’m Marissa!

I’m a Bi-Coastal actor, singer, dancer, and choreographer, currently based in New York City. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, and grew up training as a technical ballet, jazz, and tap dancer at The Performing Arts Center, LA County High School For The Arts, and Edge PAC. At age 15 I went to my first pre professional summer intensive at Ballet Chicago, and the following summer at the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, where I expanded my contemporary dance learnings. While continuing my dance training, I also studied acting and voice throughout high school.

I went on to receive my BA in Musical Theatre/Minor in Dance from Point Park University, in Pittsburgh, PA. Since then, I’ve been back and forth between NYC and LA, performing regionally at theatres such as Musical Theatre West, Rubicon, and The Broadwater. Most recently I associate choreographed 9 to 5 at Musical Theatre West and was the Dance Captain.

My hope in life, and as an artist, is to inspire people to find a little more joy wherever they are.

Meet Marissa Mayer

“I’ve learned to let go of perfectionism in order to stick with consistent goal setting and follow through. Setting audacious goals is scary because they may not come true… the victory is going after something I love and that scares me.”

– Voyage LA

Dames At Sea at Sierra Madre Playhouse

“The tried-and-true chorine Joan, played ever-so-perfectly and supportively by Marissa Mayer, is the natural heart of the story, using loyalty, honesty, and a clever calculation, to make the best outcome possibly happen.”

– Valerie-Jean Miller (BroadwayWorld)

Dames At Sea at Sierra Madre Playhouse

“The entire triple-threat cast is talented, especially all three females, who are all superb tap dancers with excellent voices and quality comedic skills. Each one excels at one of those skills, (Marissa at singing, Jennifer at comedy, and Katie at dancing,) so they make for a perfect blend of performers.”

– Karen Salkin

A Chorus Line at Sierra Repertory Theatre

“Marissa Mayer (as the plucky Bebe) recounts how, “At the Ballet,” she could forget her rotten home life. Ms. Mayer’s crystal-clear, flawless voice was filled with emotion and thrilled in one of the most well-known numbers in the show.”

“Working out and self-care have definitely become the new nightlife within my community of friends. It’s so cool! I hardly ever go out, simply because I rarely enjoy the crazy party scene. I’d rather meet up with a small group of friends, drink wine, and talk about life together.”

“In his Bronx studio, Sabin Howard photographs actors—Zach Libresco, Paul-Emile Cendron and Marissa Mayer—dressed in period costume, one of the first steps in creating a sculpture for a national World War I memorial.”
